Pokémon Go Rings In 2025 with Holiday Cheer

Pokémon Go Rings in 2025 with a New Year's Event and More!

As 2024 draws to a close, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event, followed by the Fidough Fetch event and a Sprigatito Community Day. But that's not all!

Kicking off the new year is the Eggs-pedition Access, running throughout January as part of the Dual Destiny season. Available for $4.99, this in-game purchase unlocks a range of benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching experience until January 31st. This includes a significant upgrade to the Gift system, allowing you to hold up to 40 Gifts, open 50 daily, and collect 150 from Photo Discs. Check out the event trailer below!

What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?

The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there aren't any new Pokémon, Shiny variations, or costumes this time around, there's still plenty of festive fun to be had.

Expect to encounter wild Jigglypuff with ribbons, Hoothoot in New Year's attire, and Wurmple sporting party hats – all with a chance to be Shiny. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks displays.

Raids will feature a Pikachu in a snowflake beanie (Tier One), and Raticate and Wobbuffet in party hats (Tier Three), each with increased Shiny rates. Keep an eye out for themed Pokémon in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.

Ready to join the festivities? Download Pokémon Go from the Google Play Store and get ready to celebrate the New Year! And don't forget to check out our latest coverage on Night Crimson, Sword of Convallaria's new update featuring SP characters.
