To play, you are equipped with a powerful gun that fires two superimposed shots, which can be recharged at any time. This feature effectively replaces the traditional shotgun and introduces a more dynamic approach to gameplay. Starting from the fourth level, players gain access to a repeater, allowing them to bring down an increasing number of thrushes per series. The number of birds that appear per round will rise as you progress through the levels.
The scoring system is designed to keep players engaged and challenged. Your score increases based on how many birds you successfully target in a single series. Initially, the maximum kill streak is set at four thrushes. However, as you advance through the game, this streak limit expands, allowing for longer chains of successful hits. After each series, the screen resets, clearing away all fallen birds to prepare for the next wave.
Depending on the level you're currently playing, you may have the opportunity to reduce your number of failures by achieving specific bird-down thresholds. This mechanic adds a strategic layer to the gameplay, encouraging precision and consistency.
Special mechanics also come into play with certain types of thrushes. For instance, thrushes flying straight up or down in a completely vertical motion reward the player with 5 bonus points upon being hit. Additionally, some thrushes perform unique aerial maneuvers mid-flight, making them harder to hit. Successfully shooting these tricky targets results in higher point rewards, adding an element of skill and luck to the mix.
