InZOI's Game Director, Hyungjun "KJoon" Kim, has provided fascinating insights into the game's incorporation of unusual and paranormal elements. Players will have the unique opportunity to control ghosts, though this feature will be limited to ensure it complements rather than overshadows the core gameplay experience. This ghost-control mechanic is intricately linked to a karma system, which meticulously tracks the actions of characters and significantly impacts their future lives—even extending its influence beyond death.

The karma system plays a pivotal role in determining a character's fate after they pass away. Depending on their deeds, characters may either transition peacefully into the afterlife or find themselves as ghosts, bound to wander among the living. To ultimately move on from the mortal realm, these ghostly entities must accumulate the karma points they lack.
In the early access version of InZOI, ghosts will be present within the game, but the ability to control them will not be available until a later update. The developers have made it clear that InZOI is primarily focused on simulating real life, thus paranormal elements will be kept subtle. However, there are hints that other mysterious and unexplained phenomena could be introduced to enrich the InZOI experience in the future.
