After Inc.: A Bold $2 Price Tag for Plague Inc.'s Optimistic Sequel
Ndemic Creations' After Inc., released November 28th, 2024, takes a gamble with its $2 price point. Developer James Vaughn, in a recent Game File interview, voiced concerns about this strategy in a mobile market dominated by free-to-play (F2P) games laden with microtransactions.

Despite the apprehension, the team proceeded, banking on the success of Plague Inc. and Rebel Inc. to attract players and demonstrate continued demand for premium, complex strategy games on mobile. Vaughn stated, "The only reason we can even consider releasing a premium game is because we have our existing juggernauts... which will help players find our games - and also show that there is still an appetite for intelligent, sophisticated strategy games on mobile."
The developers have committed to a fully paid experience. The App Store listing explicitly states "no consumable microtransactions" and promises that "Expansion Packs are buy once, play forever."

Initial reception has been positive. After Inc. currently ranks among the top paid games on the App Store, and boasts a strong Google Play rating of 4.77 out of 5. A Steam early access release, titled After Inc. Revival, is planned for 2025.
Rebuilding Civilization in a Post-Apocalyptic UK

After Inc. is a blend of 4X grand strategy and simulation. Players rebuild human society after the Plague Inc. Necroa Virus pandemic, establishing settlements across a revitalized UK. Resources are scavenged from ruins, used to construct buildings (farms, lumberyards, etc.), and provide essential services to maintain a happy populace. Players choose from five leaders (ten in the Steam version), each with unique abilities.
The challenge? Zombies. Players must manage resource gathering and expansion while fending off the undead threat. As Vaughn assures, "Nothing that can’t be solved with some nails stuck in a cricket bat!"
