Alan Wake 2 developers want to become “Europe's Naughty Dog”

Remedy Entertainment's ambition: to become Europe's answer to Naughty Dog. Inspired by the cinematic storytelling and high production values of Naughty Dog's Uncharted series, Remedy's Director Kyle Rowley, speaking on the Behind The Voice podcast, revealed their goal to achieve similar heights. This influence is clearly visible in the development of Quantum Break and, more recently, Alan Wake 2.

Rowley's statement, "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog," underscores their commitment to crafting high-quality, narrative-driven experiences. Alan Wake 2, lauded for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative, exemplifies this ambition and has cemented Remedy's status as a leading European game studio.

Naughty Dog's legacy in single-player cinematic games, particularly with Uncharted and the critically acclaimed The Last of Us (one of the most award-winning franchises ever), serves as a clear benchmark.

Continuing to refine their flagship title, even over a year post-launch, Remedy demonstrates their dedication to player experience. Alan Wake 2 receives regular updates across all platforms, including significant PS5 Pro optimization. A new "Balanced" graphics mode provides a compelling middle ground between the Performance and Quality modes, resulting in smoother gameplay with reduced visual noise. These enhancements, alongside minor bug fixes (particularly impacting the Lake House expansion), ensure a consistently polished experience.
